Cutting edge energy-neutral design apartment with lift access and spacious (14 square meter) south-facing balcony with harbour view in popular Amsterdam neighbourhood 10 minutes walk from the Amsterdam EYE museum and with easy access to the ring-road A-10.
Access to apartment on third floor via either of two lifts or stairs. Hall to apartment.
Once inside one notices that every detail of this architect-designed home has been thought about, maximising space and utilitarian quality.
From the hall you can access the separate toilet, and the bathroom. The bathroom includes a sink and rain shower which recycles heat from the hot shower water.
The living room includes a cosy dining table with an integrated induction stove and exhaust, providing a Teppanyaki-like dining experience.
The lounge includes roof-to-ceiling sliding doors with access to the sunny, 14 square meter south-facing balcony. Offering views over the Jan van Hasselt canal and across Buiksloterham to the Amsterdam Harbour, from here one can enjoy Amsterdam’s skyline day and night.
The bedroom is enclosed by a modular curtain, which offers extra privacy and cosiness, but can be opened to offer extra light and open the bedroom to the lounge area.
The Delphi Design Suite is situated in one of the trendy new Amsterdam locations, some 15 minutes walk from the very cool EYE Museum in Amsterdam Noord (check out the museum shop!) which is next to the (free) ferry to Amsterdam Central Station. The ferry goes every few minutes back and forth from dawn to midnight. Situated in the newly realised, energy-neutral BlackJack building overlooking a canal and offering wide views (and sunsets!) over the Amsterdam harbour, there will soon be a marina in front of the apartment – in good weather people swim in the this broad canal. Hip cafés, as well as restaurants emerge in the area like fungi on a humid autumn day. Some highlights are the creative hotspot for architecture, culture and the arts, café de Ceuvel, restaurant Modern, Kebec (a sort of bakery which also does pretty mean pizzas), Bistro Noord (the name explains it all!) and if yore just up for some serious java (and ok, panini, salads and other nice lunch stuff) try the Coffee Virus. Like antique shopping? Neef Louis. Like cool 50’s original retro industrial lights? Check out Blom & Blom. Some other recommendations: Hangar, Hotel de Goudfazant. In fact, you may need to extend your business trip to discover all the inspiring places around the Delphi Design Suite!
Parking is free in front of the door and you’re in and out of town within a few minutes drive. But you’re in Amsterdam, take a bike, you’ll be anywhere within 15 minutes.
